Dream makers!!Aug 26, 2013
By Lorie L. Snyder
These are the best melatonin supplements on the market. We don't have a Trader Joes where I live and I purchased them when I was on a trip to California. I've tried others and there is NO comparison !!!! No grogginess and this is the only tablet I've had no problem chewing. I strongly suggest this product, I also have fantastic dreams when I take it but I'm sure results may vary!!;-)

PhenomenalJun 12, 2014
By Grace Helstern
I don't even write reviews, but this product is so awesome! I've taken melatonin in the past and never realized any results until now. My husband is stationed over seas and I often found myself waiting up for a phone call or constantly having late night thoughts running through my head. I would literally be getting 3 hours of sleep a night. I'm so glad I forgot the melatonin at the vitamin shoppe and picked this up at Trader Joes instead. I now start to fall asleep shortly after taking the pill and stay asleep all night! Life saver!

I have tried ones that are immediate release and timed release ones and one that was a combination that seemed like the answerDec 25, 2014

I have tried over 10 different melatonin products with different effects over the years. Some have given me zero benefit. I have tried immediate release, timed release and one that was a combination that seemed like it would be the answer. The fact is after taking up to 5g doses of other pills nothing works better, more reliably than this product. I have found frequently that other melatonin supplements do not work at all for some reason. I am not sure where Trader Joe sources their melatonin but whether in the sourcing, manufacturing or something this pill works better than all the others I've tried by far.
I find that chewing half a tablet works. Melatonin is good for you in lots of ways and it is non-habit forming so you can use it safely and every day. I have found that this works the first day and for many days after with no diminishment of effect. This is a no-brainer.
The way all melatonin works is to help you fall asleep faster but it does not keep you asleep for 8 hours. If you are looking for something to really knock you out and keep you asleep for a long time you might consider adding this to some other pill. My problem is after 4 hours or so I wake up, generally have to pee and then need to go back to sleep. I find that this pill can help me do that but I have also found that taking a regular tylenol in the middle of the night also gives me another 4 hours of solid sleep with no grogginess in the morning.
Melatonin works fast. This pill will help you fall asleep in minutes after you take it, for me frequently 5 or 10 minutes. Whoever is responsible for TraderJoes supplements is a genius. Several of their supplements have easily outperformed the competition. Another one I would highly recommend is their pine park. Cheap, extremely effective it is great for helping immune system even though it is not commonly thought for that. Thank you Trader Joes for making this supplement. It has really helped me and looking at the reviews a lot of other people.

Just the right amountApr 25, 2014

One delicious chewable tablet 30 to 60 minutes before bed, and you'll feel like you've slept an extra half-hour or more. These are the best I've found.

Tiny dose of melatonin better than bigger doses for sleepSep 26, 2011
By R. D. Graham
We had been talking the 300-milligram (thousandths of a gram) melatonin tables that most stores carry, but they weren't improving our sleep habits that much. Then a friend who has terrible insomnia and so has researched the use of melatonin, told us to try using a much smaller dose -- 250 micrograms (millionths of a gram) taken at about 6-8 p.m. We found these tiny dosages through Amazon; Darwin Joe's is apparently made by Trader Joe's. Anyway, we just take the whole 500 micrograms, and it has really helped both the kids and the adults around here to sleep better. One caveat: they have such a delicious mint flavor that it's almost too yummy -- be careful to put the bottle where little kids can't get to it, because they might want to eat them like candy.
